Sharpening Services for Salons and Groomers

For Salons and Groomers and Veterinarians

We provide professional sharpening services to both Salons and Groomers. Our services include sharpening for Clipper Blades, Beveled Edge Shears (Straight and Curved), Convex Edge Shears (Straight and Curved), and various types of Thinners, Blenders, Chunkers (Straight and Curved).

Learn more about how we sharpen each type in the sections below.

Clipper Blades

Clipper blades are initially inspected to see how well they are working. Any chipped, broken teeth, or wearing of parts, will be identified and discussed. Combs and cutters are then cleaned and sharpened on a hollow ground machine to ensure the tips of the teeth can make consistent contact, providing a clean cut. Once that is completed, they are demagnetized to decrease friction and release and accumulated debris. Prior to re-assembly, the sockets are adjusted to eliminate rattling while using the clippers. Once the blades are re-assembled and oiled, the tension is adjusted to ensure blades glide smoothly and cut hair efficiently. Blades are also tested to see that they are clipping properly.

We currently sharpen all A5 detachable clipper blades, ask
about other blades.

Beveled Edge Shears (Straight and Curved)

The shears are initially inspected to see how well they are working. Any missing parts or special repair needs are identified and discussed. Shears are then disassembled and sharpened on a flat-hone system to maintain the original bevel angle/shape. Blades are then polished to create a smooth clean and precise cut. Blades are re-assembled, oiled, set to proper tension and tested to ensure there is a functional and smooth cutting surface.

Convex Edge Shears (Straight and Curved)

The shears are initially inspected to see how well they are working. Any missing parts or special repair needs are identified and discussed. Shears are then disassembled and sharpened on a flat-hone system to preserve the convex shape and provide a durable and sharp cutting edge. Once this is complete the blades are polished to smooth the convex surface, ensuring better performance. Blades are
re-assembled, oiled, set to proper tension and tested to ensure there is a functional and smooth cutting surface.

Thinners, Blenders, Chunkers (Straight and Curved)

These are initially inspected to see how well they are working. Any missing parts or special repair needs are identified and discussed. They will be disassembled
and sharpened on a flat-hone system. Blades are re-assembled, oiled, set to proper tension and tested to ensure there is a smooth and functional cutting service.
